Before-after footage shows stunning transformation
You would not believe it if you saw it back in 2021. Coral Garden—just in front of Summer Bay Resort, Pulau Lang Tengah—was more "garden" in name than reality. Barren patches, some coral here and there, and not much else. But that's the thing with nature: give it time, care, and a little push, and it can surprise you.Â
 Â
Fast forward to March 2024, and Coral Garden is alive—buzzing, swimming, and pulsing with color. Picture this: a Moray eel slinking between coral branches, a curious grouper hovering nearby, schools of chromis darting like confetti. There's butterflyfish, rabbitfish, parrotfish, wrasse, sea cucumber, sea urchin—you name it. It's not just a barren patch anymore. It's a reef with marine community.Â
 Â
Coralku kicked off this restoration site back in July 2021, laying down rebar grids to stabilise the coral rubble, planting coral fragments with hope and precision. We didn't know exactly how long it would take, or how well it'd work. But seeing it now? It's hard not to feel a bit emotional. Honestly, it's like watching something you planted bloom wildly while you weren't looking.Â
 Â
And it's not just the marine life that's enjoying the place. Guests from Summer Bay Resort are loving it too. It has become a hot spot for snorkellers—easy to reach, rich with life, and just plain beautiful. Many even show up with waterproof cameras for underwater photoshoots. Can you blame them? That turquoise backdrop is pure magic.Â
Every visit reminds us that restoration isn't about instant fixes. It is about faith, patience, and stubborn optimism. Coral Garden's progress proves that when you care deeply and work consistently, even the ocean responds.Â
And yeah, all the effort? Totally worth it.Â
