Coralku completes the largest coral nursery site stocked with heat tolerant corals
Coralku proudly announces the completion of Malaysia's largest coral nursery site off Pulau Lang Tengah, featuring 77 floating coral nurseries. Constructed over a month, this underwater sanctuary will house over 2000 heat‑tolerant coral fragments, boosting reef restoration amid escalating climate stress. These nurseries represent a leap forward in restoration capacity, building hope for our reefs, one coral at a time.Â
 Â
In March 2024, our team installed nursery structures at depths of 14–15 meters. Each coral grid supports  coral fragments selected for high thermal resilience. With the nursery now operational, Coralku plans to outplant 4,000-6,000 nursery‑grown corals onto degraded reef slopes annually. Regular monitoring will assess survival, growth, and fecundity, feeding into an open‑access database to guide future restoration efforts. Â
